The Embrace Campaign Report - April Update

Early on the morning of Saturday, October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorists carried out the worst attack on Jewish people since the Holocaust as they tortured, decapitated, and burned alive children and adults, and committed unspeakable rapes and other gender-based crimes. By the end of the day, more than 1,200 Israelis were dead, thousands injured, and more than 240 were kidnapped to Gaza, some barefoot and in their pajamas. At present, 134 hostages, including 35 bodies, still remain in captivity, in deplorable conditions, experiencing severe physical, sexual, and mental abuse.

In the face of this tragedy, our social impact hub, through the Center for Jewish Impact, Alumot Or, and SASA Setton, mobilized a comprehensive support network aimed at addressing both the immediate and long-term needs arising from this crisis. Although our collective efforts typically do not extend to fundraising for external causes, the overwhelming national unity in response to these events compelled us to contribute to the relief efforts for our affected brothers and sisters.

Thanks to the generosity of donors, alongside foundations, federations, partner organizations, and a crowdfunding campaign through an Israel support marathon, we successfully raised over 20 Million NIS.

The projects we have chosen to support align with our areas of expertise and operation, allowing us to leverage our network and knowledge to maximize our impact. Our efforts are focused on supporting hospital networks, child welfare, trauma recovery, and educational initiatives.

This report outlines how your contributions have been used to make a tangible difference. It's important to note that additional funds are still being collected and directed towards new projects, as we recognize that the journey to rehabilitate these communities is ongoing.
