Robert Singer, Chairman of the Center for Jewish Impact: "The Jewish community in Milan is a historical, beautiful community, and we are happy to continue this important partnership with Maccabi Tel Aviv and the World Zionist Organization's Department for Israel & Holocaust Commemoration and to use professional sports to bring the Jewish communities and Israel closer together.”

Shimon Mizrahi, Chairman of Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club: “the city of Milan has always been kind to us, and we especially remember winning the EuroLeague in 2014, and now another important event is taking place here. Maccabi is a symbol that connects between Jews from across the world. The acronym of Maccabi (Mi Kamocha Ba’elim Hashem – who is like you among the heavenly powers) is a prayer shared by all Jews worldwide. We are privileged to have the opportunity to use the power of basketball to connect between Israel and the Jewish community of Milan, during the first away game of Maccabi in the EuroLeague this season. We thank our partners, the Center for Jewish Impact, and the World Zionist Organization’s Department for Israel & Holocaust Commemoration for leading this important initiative, which is just the first step of many more gatherings with Jewish communities across Europe."

Milo Hasbani, President of the Jewish Community of Milan: "As the head of the Jewish community, as an Israeli citizen, and as a Maccabi fan, we are pleased to support Maccabi Tel Aviv in their upcoming match against Olimpia Milano, since Israel is very important to us and many of our community members are expected to attend and show our solidarity during the game. I thank the Center for Jewish impact, Maccabi Tel Aviv and the World Zionist Organization’s Department for Israel & Holocaust Commemoration on this important initiative."
