Held in Tel Aviv, the event brought together diplomats and leading Israeli cybersecurity experts to discuss civic infrastructure protection.

This week, the Center for Jewish Impact, together with the Embassies of Croatia and Kosovo in Israel, hosted a Diplomatic Salon on Cybersecurity Policy for Civic Infrastructure Protection.

As cyberattacks targeting essential public services continue to rise in scale and complexity, the need for strategic collaboration between countries has never been more critical. The event—moderated by CJI Fellow Sacha Roytman—brought together top civic experts in the field to explore how international cooperation, forward-thinking regulation, and technological innovation can protect the infrastructure that sustains daily civic life.

The panel featured leading voices in Israeli cybersecurity: Yigal Unna, former Director General of the Israel National Cyber Directorate; Dr. Dorit Dor, also former Director General of the Directorate; Prof. Gabi Siboni, expert in cybersecurity and military strategy; and Shay Nachum, CEO of Cyght.

From hospitals and public transit systems to communication networks, civic infrastructure remains a prime target for hostile actors. The discussion emphasized that cybersecurity in this context is not about offensive capabilities or geopolitics—it’s about protecting the basic systems people rely on every day.
